I’ve installed a Davies Craig electric water pump and electronic controller on my ’67. If anyone would like more info, let me know. Seems to work great. Have about 600 miles on it so far.

Best regards,
Gary Piland

Gary ......That's what I'm thinking of doing on Project Redbull to get rid of the coupled generator/water pump and go separate alternator and water pump. Please send info to tom10-+mvbHnN81+***@public.gmane.org

Just for general knowledge…

I installed the pump down low at the very front of the passenger front fender below the alternator/headlight where a horn usually sits. (My horns are small lightweight replacements and moved to the driver’s side.) The outlet on the my Saab 9000 radiator is straight out to the passenger side so it goes directly into the pump and then angles on back below the exhaust to the rear of the block.

NOTE: The pump is so light and small it requires no mounting. The outlet radiator hose is strong enough to hold it in place. The pump is rated at 7,000 hours if you use their controller.

I put the sensor up near the inlet on the radiator. It has a nice adaptor in the kit for this. They say put the controller inside the car, but I bought a nice Pelican 1040 waterproof box and mounted it on the passenger fender.

Not cheap, but wanted the horsepower gain and better cooling at idle in the summer.

Best regards,Gary Piland

Don’t know if photos can be sent to this group… but this is what I used…

You can find some great deals on eBay from Davies Craig directly if you look - the seller is auto!123.

FYI - my engine isn’t stock, it’s a 1.7 that has Pinto pistons, larger valves, ported intake and exhaust, MSS exhaust, f4 cam, hd oil pump, 2 bbl Weber DGAV 32/36, Saab 9000 radiator, electric fuel pump (many thanks to Jack Lawrence, Bud Clark and the incomparable Tom Shipman.)

Best regards,
Gary Piland
