With the cup type inner drivers , which wear is to be more concerned about? The side of the roller contact area on aceleration or the contact / wear from the rounded end of the roller? I need two good ones tomorrow to stuff motor and trans back in my '67 96. By sunday at the latest this car needs to be running and reliable. Mary anne starts a new job monday. Untill i get another motor for her '98 lesaber...she just might be comuting in "the posessed 96"! So i need to pick from the collection ( i might need to remove some from unknown used transmissions untill two are located!) In order to finish this darn project so i can again focus on jim's '65 monte!!!!! It has to go home too!

Thank you!!!!!
Chuck

Chuck-
the acceleration side is the one that wears and causes the judder when accelerating. You can swap them side to side to avoid that, also. I probably have a few good ones if you need them, so stop down.

AFAIK, they are both the same dimension, but I have also seen them with 4 openings rather than just 2, so those could be switched just 90 degrees to have no wear spots.

And they do have different splines. Not apparent unless you have them side by side.

Or try to put them in. They do not interchange. I tried just for the experience of " see what happens now ".

Don,
We need to get together to team dismantle the blue parts 96 some time soon. I need a left door latch assy for my 96. LOL! They are not "fun" getting out without bending the actuator rod.
I have a box of cleaned cup inner drivers. Actually over 15 mixed fine and coarse splined ( thank you lester!) ones. I needed coarse splines and fate had me knocking out drivers fron gear boxes on the floor! Holly cow! I had no idea how badly worn these things can get!!!!! I have a few i should send off as scrap , the wear groves are so deep ON BOTH SIDES! Someone must have swapped out R.&l. sides years ago. Or, torn boots with no lubrication i guess.
Any way please think about a saturday we can get together to dismantle your parts car and swap shop stories. It's always fun don. ;)
