Survey: Clutch alignment tool [1 Attachment]

Hi--I am pulling the SonettV4 transmission to swap in the Sonett III box soon, and realized I did not have a clutch alignment tool. I have a couple other used transmissions lying around, but I don't want to disintegrate them just for an alignment tool. I've been shopping, and the only thing I see that looks like it would work is the setup below that I can order online.


Before I do anything foolish, I'd really appreciate hearing from several VSaabers what works.

Or cheat.. put the disc on the flywheel with the pressure plate installed loosely, measure the edge of the disc in from the edge of the flywheel and get it centered within a millimeter or so, works a treat.

Mark Ashcraft has a plastic alignment tool, $18.00
It worked perfect.

I have used that exact pilot tool for over 35 years.. It will work, If you need an input shaft, let me know. I'm sure I have a few sitting around.

Hi all--I am working on other cars with friends, e.g., a Mazda powered-TVR Vixen rebuild, and will be getting the tool I showed you, so we can use it for multiple projects.
