Anyone ever successfully ship a Sonett III rear window?

If so, how did you pack it? What shipper did you use? What was the cost?

Any advice appreciated! There's a fellow north of Toronto that needs one and I have a spare.

I tried to ship one once, but failed because I packed it in my own custom
built plywood box.

I was trying to ship it overseas and apparently, or so I learned that day,
you cannot (could not) ship pine products to the EU because of pine wood
parasites that could potentially hitch a ride and infect the European
forests. So, the window still sits snugly in that box in my basement 14
years later.

I found the whole episode ironic, considering all of the invasive species
that the Europeans infested North America with.

I don't know why I didn't try to re-pack it in cardboard. I just don't
remember any longer.
However, you should be able to pack it in sufficient layers of cardboard.
Shipping to Canada isn't cheap though. The buyer could potentially save a
lot of money if they have a friend in Buffalo or nearby that would receive
it for them.

I did successfully ship a SIII rear glass to Jim Williams in Omaha a few years back....... but it didn't take any special prep as we had friends in an RV visiting from NC and they were heading on I-76/I-80 east from Denver. So they just placed it on a nice comfy couch in their rig, and when they got to Omaha Jim took them to lunch IIRC.....

You could deliver it at the Toronto Convention.
