Not to make too fine a point of it, but a hydraulic clutch is not the definition of a wet clutch and a mechanical clutch is not the definition of a dry clutch. We are mixing our lutefisk and bryggeri.
A âWetâ clutch has the friction plates running in an oil bath (my old triumph motorcycle has a wet clutch). A âDryâ clutch is just that, the friction plates are dry (like on a SAAB).
I think there some confusion that a hydraulic and mechanical clutches refer to how the clutch is actuated. Specifically, how the pedal movement causes the clutch plates to release or engage.
So, both mechanical and hydraulic clutches are also wet or dry.
NowI think time for a cold breggeri, the cats can have the lutefisk.
